LLM Chat

The LLM Chat panel provides an interactive chat interface that allows you to communicate directly with a configured Large Language Model (LLM). This feature enables you to ask questions, get explanations, and receive assistance from the LLM in real-time.

Accessing the Chat Panel

The LLM Chat panel appears as a tab in the ZAP Workspace window. You can access it by clicking on the “LLM Chat” tab.

LLM MCP Support

When both the LLM Support add-on and the MCP add-on are installed, the LLM MCP Support sub-extension automatically gives the LLM the ability to invoke ZAP’s MCP tools directly during a chat session. Tools are only included when the selected model provider is marked as Trusted (the same flag that controls whether ZAP may share additional data with the provider). You can also turn tools off for an individual chat tab using the tools toggle in the chat toolbar.

Model Providers

Configure one or more model providers. Each provider entry has a unique name, which is used to select it in other parts of the UI. You can add, modify, and remove providers from the list. The default provider is used when an LLM is required and no other provider is chosen. You can also set the default model for the selected provider.
